Lord Of The Rings

Based on the novels by J. R. R. Tolkien, The Lord Of The Rings film series consisted of three epic fantasy movies. The trilogy was one of the biggest projects undertaken in movie history, and had a budget of $281 million - it's fair to say that the gamble paid off though with the movies jointly raking in just under $3 billion and numerous awards.
